I am a thirty-one year old female. I spend a lot of time writing
fanfiction, mostly in the Potterverse. You can find all of my
fanfiction here.
I
have a full-time job at West Virginia University and hail from West
Virginia, USA. My free time (what little there is of it!) is spent
writing fanfiction, reading, cooking, crocheting and plotting world
domination.
I can't tell you what my favorite books are because
my tastes range from fiction to nonfiction and poetry to prose. I'll
read almost anything. I particularly enjoy mystery, theology, science
fiction/fantasy, and natural science.
I study ballet and foreign languages, and sometimes I think the foreign languages are easier than ballet!
I
am left-handed and find that living in a right-handed world is quite
annoying, especially because notebooks have the spiral on the wrong
side!
I do write original fiction, but nothing has been published so far. I'll let you know if that happens.
I
live with my best friend and our cat, Roomba. Although I am not around as often as I used to be, my blog and my fanfiction are never far from my thoughts.
Dear Emma,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Christopher Light, and I am the acquisitions officer for Thinklings Books, LLC—a publisher of quality speculative fiction novels.
I’m writing to invite you to submit an original novel to us because your fanfiction is of exceptional quality, and you have demonstrated an ability to write complete novel-length stories in a speculative genre. (The ones that particularly struck my eye, which I read and enjoyed in their entirety, are "An Aunt's Love" and "What is Right".)
We’re not a vanity press. We’d never charge you for submissions, editing, publication, marketing, or anything else. Instead, we’re what modern publishing should be. We:
- believe in quality above all
- build long-term relationships with authors
- provide excellent editing and design
- market and advertise our books long term
- provide the tools and knowledge to help our authors do further marketing
- pay high royalties
You can learn more about us and submit at thinklingsbooks (dot) com.
If you do decide to submit, please make sure to drop my name in your cover letter.
Sincerely,
Christopher Light
